AIMS Career Academy
Career Academy is a form of Concurrent Enrollment that allows high school juniors and seniors to take college classes and receive dual credit. However, it differs from the Concurrent Enrollment program in these ways:
- Students must attend high school through a school district or a charter.
- Eligibility requirements apply, and seats are limited and competitive.
- A predetermined curriculum leads to earning one or more academic certificates and/or an industry certification.
- Classes are offered at an Aims campus (and online, depending on the program and class).
- Programs are one-year (two semesters) in length. Students entering Career Academy as a high school junior may be able to participate in a second year, depending on the program and on the student’s continued academic success.
- Students provide their own transportation to and from class.
- The cost of tuition, *fees, and course materials is paid for by your school district, making Career Academy much like a scholarship. [* Aviation flight fees are not a covered cost.]
a. At Eaton High School, Career Academy credits count as the 6 approved credits outside of Eaton HS concurrent offerings that the district pays tuition–so if a student is enrolling in more Concurrent courses at AIMS or AIMS Online then tuition for these credits will be the responsibility of students/parents/guardians
